In Progress for CM9 beta4
These are issues that the developers are interested in targeting for beta4. If you want a different bug fixed in beta4, please be sure it is well described and get other users to vote on it in our issue tracker.
- CM9 beta3 introduced the option to disable the cap lights. Known regressions:
- The keyboard backlight can fail to turn on if you use manual brightness.
- Long-press home fails if you had double tapped. Single long-press works.
- Team members are working on replicating the signal strength thresholds of Samsung's ROM, implementable as generic knobs for CM9's CDMA framework. This will be necessary for Epic to ever achieve "stable" status in CM9 in the future.
- nullghost's Phantom Voicemail patch needs further work to be suitable for CM9 inclusion, another requirement for Epic to achieve "stable" status in the future.
- wispoffates is investigating a mysterious wakelock that sometimes causes severe battery drain on Epic 4G.
- bbelos continues work on the 3.0.x kernel in cooperation with KalimAz.
- DRockstar is working on the keymap, so it will be possible to type characters like ` (backtick) and Tab.

Awesome! I like the way the Lockscreen Weather looks!
ReplyDeleteStargate Universe season 2 episode 18 : Epilogue is the Netflix movie
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else had an issue where after you hang up a call, the ringer volume for all new calls is now mute? Almost everytime I hang up a call, my volume for new calls go mute. (ringer)
ReplyDeleteHaving an issue where the Lockscreen Weather stopped updating after I restarted the phone. Tapping it does not force it to update. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteI cant mount my SD card in Recovery? It mount fine in Android OS. Any helpful answers?
ReplyDeleteI just tested it here, working just fine.
DeleteI'm not sure if this is the mysterious "wakelock" but sometimes I have severe battery loss when restarting my phone. When I hit the "reboot" function on the phone options screen, I will occasionally lose a ton of battery life. I will normally have over 70% battery before reboot but I will have 20% or less battery after the phone starts up again. I am currently using Beta3. Also, I have two batteries so I don't think that is the problem. Has anyone else been experiencing similar problems?
ReplyDeleteBesides that, everything works great. I love what you guys are doing and keep up the good work!
i have had this happen in the past as well..i am currently on beta 2 but have had this happen in past versions as well....doesn't happen all the time just randomly.
DeleteWhether this is the wakelock or not, I have had this happen as well on beta 2 and 3. Usually my phone gets really slow first, causing me to do the reboot in the first place, so there is definitely more to this than the battery percentage being misreported.
DeleteSame here. Usually happens whew I have data turned on. Has happened in beta 2 and 3.
DeleteSame here, i have a feeling that this is not the only ROM that this happens too.
DeleteSame Here. Had this happen in beta2 and beta3. As others have stated, it seams to happen when using data and when the phone starts behaving sluggish. Something else I noticed is that after this happens, then my battery slowly starts gaining battery life if remaining idle, going from 15% and ending up at 21%, for example. Does anyone know if this has been reported in the bug tracker? I see a couple instances but not sure if they are relevant to this specific issue.
DeleteAfter changing batteries or some types of flashing, it can take one or two full charges for the phone to accurately report the battery %. This is just a quirk of Epic. Even Samsung's ROM does this.
ReplyDeleteI'm having wifi issues on this build. It wont turn on. Everything else is perfect!
ReplyDeletei had this issue when using a custom kernel that wasnt updated for the newer builds. are you using a custom kernel or the "stock" kernel that comes with the cm9 rom?
Deletehad the same issue but after re flashing download everything came back up and running..
DeleteBeta 3 is running pretty smoothly for me, but with a few issues. I am running cm_epicmtd-userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76I eng.jenkins.20120510.192014 test-keys. I am running stock, no modifications, no overclocking.
ReplyDeleteFirst, battery life is horrible! I use my phone for reading the news on the bus ride into work, approximately 1 hour of use, no streaming video, nothing else running in the background, and after I get to work, I am left with 66% battery! I do have auto-brightness turned off, but I have the brightness set to about 35%.
Second, 4G reception seems intermittent. I will start using it, and it will work fine for a while, then drop the signal. I usually have to turn airplane mode on and off to get data working in either 3g or 4g after that. Also, when tethering to my tablet, if the phone drops a 4g signal, tethering turns off and has to be turned back on.
Other than those two relatively minor issues, the ROM seems to be very stable...enough for me to use it as my new "daily driver"! You guys are doing an awesome job so far, I REALLY appreciate your efforts! Hopefully this feedback can be of some use to you guys. Feel free to contact me if you need me to generate a log file for you or something. Keep up the good work!
CM9b4p3: Keep getting "Process system in not responding".
ReplyDeleteI had that once, but it didn't happen again. Curious stuff going on...
DeleteI see on the gerrit that lock screen calendar was recently merged, will a new build be created because of this?
ReplyDeleteMD5 doesn't match for either mirror of the beta4-beta5 downloads
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded both mirrors of beta4-pre5 and they match.

DeleteI apologize, i was being retarded and was copying the word "md5sum" as part of the string. doh!
DeleteMy front facing camera does not work, hasn't for the last couple of builds. Is anyone else having this problem?
ReplyDeleteWorks fine here.
DeleteI just flashed back to a stock rom and the FFC still does not function, so at this point I believe it is a hardware issue with my device.
Deletecan someone confirm for me...still running beta 2 but i was gonna go to 4 and wanted to make sure that beta4 pre 7 is the full and not a part update...Correct? Just dont wanna end up with partials lol
ReplyDeleteCM never has partial updates.
Deletethoughts so just wanted to check :D THX!
DeleteThis is odd, now every time I try to change my lock screen to any of the types. I get the "Unfortunately Settings have stopped" error message. What do I need to do to clear lock screen settings without wiping out my Settings data?
ReplyDeleteSomewhere with updating the beta4 pre's I lost the ability to send MMS's (pics with messaging).
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice this?
i have also seen this, kinda bugged me at first then i gave up.... lol
