First...good work guys
ReplyDeleteyeah just installed tho i most likely will only see a little difference seeing how i have been running 4.0.4 test build lol but the few things like pinch to zoom on camera are nice
ReplyDeleteEverything is good beside the mdnie that make the color all fuzzy
ReplyDeleteI too like the mdnie disabled other than that everything's perfect. Great work!
ReplyDeleteIs there a way for us to toggle mdnie ? I'd like to disable it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work guys, thanks for keeping the progress moving.
ReplyDeleteI see my screenshot made it in too! :-D
Great Job! I also prefer mdnie disabled but I trust the team enabled it for a good reason.
ReplyDeletewith cm9 4.0.3 beta1, i had a couple problems. the text messages would be out of order and also sometimes i send a text and people recieve them as symbols and numbers. does anyone know the reason for this and is it fixed in beta 2?
ReplyDeleteand what is mdnie that everyone is talking about?
I had the same issue with symbols and numbers with MightyText plugin. It seemed to only occur when typing out more that 160 characters and trying to have the phone or mighty text divide it up into more than 1 message. Haven't tested it yet with CM9 beta2 but I migrated over to Google Voice and love it. There's a plugin for Chrome browser so you can just send texts from your phone through there.
DeleteI had the same issue on 4.0.3 b1.ill be upgrading to b2 Monday. Going back to the default.installed sms program works. I was using sms pro download but after a while it bugs out like yours.
DeleteNice job guys, awesome work! Thanks for your efforts and dedication.
ReplyDeleteI still have an issue with color. Anyway to fix this?
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean mdnie is here to stay?
ReplyDeleteSO WHEN ARE YOU GUY'S GOING TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE EPIC TOUCH?
ReplyDeletedifferent Dev. Team

DeleteLooks really similar ... =)
Nice Job Guys!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only problem i have is that 4g data not reconnecting automatically.
After i loose 4g connection, phone just stays on 3g data until i manually turn 4g off and back on. Same problem exist on beta 1 and beta 2 versions.
I Am on IE22 modem.
Any ideas?
Great job guys! The only issue I have encountered is that 3-way calling does not work. I have logged this issue so hopefully you can solve this one soon. Other wise great ROM. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteTwice now I've had to uninstall and reinstall maps to get google navigation working once was from a dirty flash. Second time was after a fresh wipe and flash. FC09 radio. All stock otherwise.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for 3.x kernel. Then the OC and voodoo sound enabled variants.
I can't find a way to get the Voicemail notification to swipe away.
ReplyDeletesound much better. but i'm not sure if speaker for media is fully as loud as it was with gingerbread. Much better though.
ReplyDeleteHad 2 episodes of wierd screen flickering - has anyone else had that? Like the refresh rate of old monitors when use a camera to record tv picture effect.
Awesome work though to bring us ICS - phone is much faster overall than EL30. You rock!
Also having problems with Navigation force closing upon opening. Another app that I have installed NPR News force closes, but the weird part is I haven't even opened the app since the update. How can an app that I didn't open decide to force close?
ReplyDeleteAlso i cannot see face unlock feture on my phone. The only otions i have is: None, Slide, Pattern, Pin, Password.
ReplyDeleteAlso battery live can be improved.
I believe the camera is too low rez for face unlock to work, or so i have heard.
DeleteThanks for re-enabling mDNIe, my Epic's screen now looks as good as it has since the day I got it, THANK YOU!!!! Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThere is an issue that i have had happen quite often maybe just me. When i call out via Bluetooth i will say call "ted" and it will dial the last number dialed NOT "ted" Kinda an BIG issue depending on if u catch it right away. I noticed that it happens as well for normal dialing if you dial a number as opposed to selecting a contact. So there is a glitch somewhere in the dialer PLZ fix asap :D As Bluetooth is great for the car!
ReplyDeleteAlso would be nice if in the final version that the calculator was a more current version as opposed to the current single line one on the phone now.
LED control would be nice if we could turn it on or be on for default(Epic 4g) instead of installing 3rd party app for control of that.
-Wifi tether as a stock install would be awesome but we can always go find it if we want it too ;D
-Wondering if the app drawer could be set to scroll up and down as well, instead of side to side. Unless i am missing the option for that somewhere.
on another not leaving Bluetooth on not connected all day will drain the battery(10-20% from full 16hrs ltr), while leaving it off when not in use is about 40-50% 16 hrs ltr. Don't know if this could be adjusted besides turning of Bluetooth just a thought
DeleteThis is an excellent rom. No issues. Battery life better than any phone I've ever had. Has revived an obsolete phone. I can't believe you have'nt been hired by one of the providers. They will continue to loose credability shown by exceptional abilities they refuse to seek. My first burn was a Blackjack. Love the hobby. Thanks CM team.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else experience issues with Google Maps Navigation on Beta 2? My version no longer works, just hangs on the Google Navigation splash Screen. It did work on Beta1.
ReplyDeleteYes google maps or navigation when i try to open just won't respond it eventually prompts me if i want to close it or wait
DeleteYes. It is unstable. Mine does work but usually have to exit Maps and retry. A few times I have had to reboot.

DeleteUninstall and reinstall Google Maps then try the GPS fix temporary kernel.
here is Korea.
ReplyDeletewe use sms just 8Bit cod
epic 4g work just english....
if you change framework.jar
the sms file located \com\android\internal\telephony\cdma\smsMessage
plz fix it.
we use [KSC5601]code not [UCS2]
I've used every release of CM9 and this beta is the first time I've had problems. Either I coincidentally experienced a hardware failure or something in CM9 has changed. I lost all audio. It worked for awhile on Beta 2 after at least a couple days it disappeared. I was able to verify that a Bluetooth headset works and the headset jack works. It's almost like the phone doesn't recognize there is nothing plugged into the headset jack. Reboots do not help. I'm going to try a rollback to Beta 1 when I get a chance.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is there a place to officially file a bug report?
I rolled back to Beta 1 and it did not fix the problem. I was coming to terms with having a hardware problem when I thought of one more thing to try. I plugged in speakers, started playing a song in Google Play Music, went back to my home screen so that the headphones icon showed in the notification bar, unplugged the speakers, the song paused, and sound started working on my phone again. I can now make phone calls without a Bluetooth headset.
DeleteWhen it was broken I believe the phone thought there was something plugged into the headphone jack and therefore tried to play all audio through that port. Once I was able to convince the software that nothing was plugged in all my problems went away. I still don't understand why a reboot didn't fix my problem. Apparently the switch that controls the destination of the phone's audio is stored in a file and not in memory. My rollback to Beta 1 must not have touched that file. I'm going to assume that had I reset my phone to stock Gingerbread it would have fixed my problem and I might have wrongfully accused CyanogenMod.
Hopefully documenting this problem will save someone else the headache and panic I experienced over the past few days.
Just curious since I used to run chainfire 3D pro before starting to use the CM9 alphas... But will this driver provide any benefits to the latest CM9 incarnations?
ReplyDeleteThis ROM is beyond amazing! Have had no major issues of any kind since running the first alpha release. The only problem I ever experienced is with losing the sd card ringtone and that was addressed and fixed with the first beta. Battery life has truly been incredible without the evil Sprint voicemail app and all the other retarded background apps from stock. I can't believe how perfect everything works. I have owned my Epic 4G from the first week it came out from Sprint with Froyo and it worked great, nothing super exciting, but it just got slower and worse battery life with every stock update even with root and removing evil stock apps or running custom 2.2 roms.. and the GPS was always getting worse and worse as well... I ended up having to do ##GPSCLRX# almost weekly just to get my gps working.. Gingerbread was like loading Windows Vista on a core i7 with 4gb of ram... it just sucked!!! This ICS release is just amazing and has made my phone perfect!! I got a galaxy s ii for my friend and I would not even give up my Epic for that phone now, just because CM9 is so amazing! Everything is so fast and i never get fcs. I used to get so frustrated waiting for my gps to lock and my camera to load up and many other things until Iinstalled CM9 and now everything is almost instant! Thank you guys so much CM9 Team, you all rock! I did have the same issue with my loudspeaker and headphone stopped working, HOWEVER, it was strictly mechanical... I had plugged in a iPhone (sinner, I know:-P ) headset and it caused the little mechanical switch to stick inside the plug... all Ihad to do was plug it back in (any plug with the extra long connector for headphone would work) and quickly remove it and it has worked fine since:) I can't thank everyone enough for all the hard work this ROM! And for all those complaining of poor battery life, go spend the $15 on a 1800mah battery instead of a 1500mah.
ReplyDeleteHey, first of all before I start listing problems I want to say thanks to the cm9 team for such a wonderful build!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm not sure how common these issues are but here we go...
3g only lasts for about 2 hours then switches to 1x and needs a reboot
More than every once in awhile screen flickering
Randomly crashes just about everyday, taking any battery life left
Crashes on phone calls
battery jumps from 60 to 0... crashes
More than occasional app crashes
Overheats the processor quite often
Anyway just wanted to rant a little, these problems are with stock cm9 rom, stock setttings no mods done, same kernel on the Epic 4G
And this is the beta2 release
Deletenoticed a huge battery drain while the phone is turned off anyone else experiance this. Other then that bad reception for sprint in MN. Plus great work guys
